The Holiday Season of 2009 was very busy for McKinnon's. In addition to making sure our stores were in tip-top shape for all of our loyal customers (and some new ones!) for the first time we attended three outdoor holiday events.
The first was the Town of Windham, NH Tree Lighting. With the weather cold and rainy, our crew of four (Myself, Gary, Val & Ed) ventured out with samples of deli roast beef and warm apple cider. With help from Certified Angus Beef® we also raffled off a $50 gift card to one very lucky resident! A big THANK YOU to the boy scouts who splinted our tent for us...I did mention it was raining right!
Due to a rainout, the other two events ended up being on the SAME DAY which proved to be an adventure for Myself, Russ, Robin, Melony & Ed. The Special Olympics Jolly Jaunt in Danvers was lots of fun. Again we sampled deli roast beef and warm apple cider, which hit the spot for the runners on a cool day.
With most volunteers and runners heading home, we shot back to the store in Danvers to restock and then headed straight to Middleton for their 1st Annual Tree Lighting. We got there just in time for a few minutes of preparation...and then the crowd began to file in. What a Turn Out! Paul Richardson and his sons did an excellent job of organizing, and I think all involved hope this event becomes a permanent tradition in Middleton
